Discovery Night
On Monday 18th March, the University of Sheffield opened its doors for Discovery Night. People of all ages came to meet the University's scientists and engineers, and to find out more about their research. We took this opportunity to show off the Raspberry Pi in action, and to launch our Challenge. It all started with lots of Pi ... and lots of cake ... ![]() in Sheffield's Firth Court ... with participants of all ages ... Thanks to all who came! By the way, the first mini-Challenge is still open ... can you crack it? |
First Mini-Challenge
To celebrate the official launch of the Challenge at Discovery Night, I have issued the very first Mini-Challenge. This Mini-Challenge problem is very easy to state, but rather more difficult to solve: On Monday I will be exploring this problem with visitors to Discovery Night. Raspberry Jamboree
The first Raspberry Jamboree, showcasing the uses of the Raspberry Pi in education, is being held on Saturday March 9 in
Manchester Central. It promises to be an exciting event to coincide with the one-year anniversary of the Pi. We will be announcing the Pi-Cubed Programming Challenge at 12.45pm in the 'Slices of Pi' session. |
The Launch
The Pi-Cubed Programming Challenge will be officially launched at "Discovery Night" on Monday 18th March, 4pm - 8.30pm, as part of the Sheffield Festival of Science and Engineering. Come and find us at Firth Hall, University of Sheffield. |
